ACT UP Protests Musk

On Saturday March 29, ACT UP staged a powerful protest as hundreds of angry New Yorkers marched through the streets of the West Village and the Meatpacking District.  Billed as ACT UP 38th Anniversary Action: Death by 1000 Musk Cuts, the event started with a rally at the AIDS Memorial Park, where a speaker led a chant “Pepfar Saves Lives. One Child Dies Every Minute.”

A fact sheet indicated the estimated number of adults and children who have died from HIV since Trump froze Pepfar funding in January and projected future numbers. carrying signs and chanting “Fight Musk. Fight Back. Fight AIDS.”  They marched across Greenwich Avenue and down 14th Street to the Tesla dealership in the Meatpacking District and staged a Die In on Washington Street. When in front of Tesla, people chanted loudly, “Elon Musk you can’t hide. We charge you with genocide.”
