Pumpkin Coffee Recipes: Bring the Coffee House to Your House
Pumpkin is no doubt the flavor of Fall. Pumpkin coffee, has become an extremely popular item with cafés and coffee bars rolling out their signature pumpkin-flavored drinks every Fall. Here are some great at home recipes if you want to bring the coffee house to your house.
1. Classic Pumpkin Spice Latte
Ingredients:
1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
2 tbsp pumpkin purée
1 tbsp sugar or maple syrup
1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup strong brewed coffee or 1-2 shots espresso
Whipped cream (optional)
Instructions:
In a small saucepan, whisk together milk, pumpkin purée, sugar, and pumpkin pie spice. Heat gently, stirring often, make sure not to boil. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Froth the mixture using a whisk or milk frother, then pour it over the brewed coffee. Top with whipped cream if you like it sweet and a sprinkle of extra spice.
2. Iced Pumpkin Coffee
Ingredients:
1/2 cup cold brew coffee or chilled strong coffee
1/4 cup milk or cream
1 tbsp pumpkin purée
1 tbsp maple syrup
1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
Ice
Instructions:
In a shaker or jar, combine milk, pumpkin purée, maple syrup, and pumpkin pie spice. Shake well until smooth. Fill a glass with ice, pour in the cold brew, then top with the pumpkin milk mixture.
3. Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew
Ingredients:
1 cup cold brew coffee
1/4 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
1 tbsp pumpkin purée
1 tbsp vanilla syrup or simple syrup
1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
Instructions:
In a bowl or frother, blend the cream, pumpkin purée, syrup, and pumpkin pie spice until thick and foamy. Pour cold brew over ice in a tall glass, then slowly top with the pumpkin cream.
